Libertarian Party Of Tennessee Applauds Milei’s Victory In Argentina
Libertarians In Tennessee Exclaim “¡Viva Argentina!”
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (November 1, 2023) – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- As many have already seen via several news outlets, a self-described anarcho-capitalist Libertarian has won the Argentine presidential election by an overwhelming 10+ point margin. One might draw the conclusion that this is another point in a long line of foreign affairs that Americans cannot be bothered to think about at this time; but we see it as a great opportunity on multiple fronts here at the Libertarian Party of Tennessee. This is the largest, to date, victory for a Libertarian that the world has seen; and with it comes a shift in the Overton Window of modern vernacular that will usher in the familiarization of words like, “libertarian”, “anarcho-capitalism”, and “decentralization”… to name a few. This, in and of itself, is a massive victory before the first rollback order is even penned by President Milei. Terms that describe our value-set as Libertarians will now be mainstreamed beyond the common reduction of, “You guys are just Republicans that like weed/Democrats that like guns”. The second victory we can gather from President Milei’s overwhelming victory is that it comes without yielding principle and boldness for the sake of chasing votes. One can view this resounding victory in the reverse, actually: wherein votes are desperately looking for principled voices to chase. This victory gives liberty-lovers a modern day proof of concept to point to and show deniers of liberty that it can and will win, when articulated in such a manner. Lastly, I advise that we now must judge Milei by the fruits of what he does instead of what he has said he will do. Time will tell if the chainsaw Lion roars. We hope he does, and we hope you do as well.
